The Family Centred Approaches project supports and empowers Aboriginal families in contact with criminal justice to heal through self-determination with dignity and self-respect. The program goal is safe, healthy families and reduced interactions with the justice system. The program provides wrapround, family centred healing case work, with a core focus on connecting individuals with family, community and culture, in response to trauma, cultural disconnection, substance misuse, homelessness and unstable housing, impulsivity and emotional regulation, primary and mental health, unemployment and poverty. Dardi Munwurro delivers the program in partnership with Dandenong and District Aborigines Co-operative Ltd (DDACL).
